ICU RN Job in Durango, CO

Mercy Hospital is seeking a registered nurse for its intensive care unit in Durango, Colorado. This is a travel assignment running 91 days, starting November 30, 2026, with a weekly pay rate of $2,125.44.

Role and Schedule

• Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• 6-week rotating schedule created by leadership; you will be expected to maintain flexibility and help fill scheduling gaps
• Plan for 6–9 weekend shifts within each 6-week cycle
• All time-off requests must be submitted before your assignment begins

Unit and Patient Care

• Combination ICU unit with patient populations across multiple acuity settings
• Nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:1–2 depending on acuity, with the possibility of flexing to 1:3
• High-acuity patients requiring 1:1 nursing include those on CRRT, IABP, and Impella support
• You will titrate critical drips including pressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, heparin, and insulin
• You are expected to read and interpret your own telemetry strips; there is no monitor technician on the unit
• You will manage and troubleshoot respiratory equipment including ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
• You may float to other acuity levels including PCU/Step-Down and Med-Surg Telemetry

Orientation and Systems

• 1–2 days of unit-specific orientation with a preceptor
• Electronic health record system: Epic

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience; first-time travelers must have 3+ years of ICU experience and prior Epic experience
• Current ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications
• Valid driver's license (position is within a 60-mile radius)
• Travel experience is preferred but not required

Any color scrubs are permitted. BSN is not required for this role.
