Telemetry RN Job in Lees Summit, MO

BJC West – Saint Lukes East in Lees Summit is hiring a Registered Nurse for a 91-day travel assignment on the Med-Surg Telemetry unit. You'll work 3x12 shifts during day hours at $2,042 per week.

Role Overview

You'll provide direct patient care in a telemetry-monitored environment serving post-cardiac catheterization patients, surgical recovery patients, and those requiring cardiac monitoring. The unit focuses on PCU/MI populations with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio. You'll care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including gallbladder surgery, appendectomy, hysterectomy, chest pain rule-outs, nausea/vomiting rule-outs, sepsis, and heart failure.

Schedule & Expectations

• 3x12 day shifts per week
• 8 weekend shifts required per 6-week period (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday combinations)
• Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13-week contract
• No on-call requirements
• Regular floating between departments, units, and facilities as needed
• Holiday and Charge RN assignments required as needed

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 1 year Med-Surg nursing experience
• Telemetry monitoring and on-unit telemetry management
• Cardiac drip titration and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Central line care, PICC line management, and port access/management
• Blood product administration and heparin protocols
• IV starts and maintenance, PCA management, and pacemaker care
• Feeding tube management, continuous bladder irrigation, and wound care/wound vac
• Rapid response and code team participation
• Isolation precautions and PPE protocol compliance

Credentials & Licensing

• Current RN license: Kansas and Missouri (or current compact license) required at submission
• BLS and NIHSS certification required
• Epic charting experience preferred
