Telemetry RN Job in Abilene, TX

Hendrick Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Telemetry unit in Abilene, TX. This is a 91-day travel assignment with flexible scheduling and competitive compensation.

Position Details

• Shift: 3x12 Days
• Weekly Pay: $2,035
• Start Date: October 5, 2026
• Patient Ratio: 5:1
• Daily Census: 17 patients with up to 20 per day across 20 beds

Responsibilities

You will provide care to adult and geriatric patients with medical and surgical diagnoses. The unit manages all med-surg conditions but does not accept acute chest pain, elevated troponin, cardiac drips, post-heart catheterization with intervention, or post-new pacemaker placements. You will float between both Abilene campuses and participate in self-scheduling with 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule.

Required Skills and Experience

• 2+ years of experience in Med Surg Telemetry
• Prior travel healthcare experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Blood product administration and central line blood draws
• PICC line and chest tube management
• Tracheostomy and wound care including wound vac
• BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula management
• Pre- and post-hemodialysis management
• IV placement and heparin administration

Preferred Qualifications

• Community hospital experience
• Altera charting system experience
