ED Registered Nurse Job in Saint Louis, MO

Barnes-Jewish Hospital Nursing is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department in Saint Louis, MO. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a start date of October 26, 2026.

Assignment Details:

• Shift: 3x12 nights per week
• Option to sign for 36 or 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Weekly pay: $2,116

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of emergency department experience; candidates with 2–3 years considered if they have Level I trauma center experience and at least one prior travel assignment
• First-time travelers not accepted
• Travel experience required
• Level I Trauma Center experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Patient ratio 4:1 with occasional flex to 5:1; low acuity areas may be 6:1; critical areas may be 2:1 or 3:1
• Care for patients across all age groups: neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
• Treat emergency department patient types from minor care to critical care
• Work in a fast-paced, high-volume, high-acuity department
• Frequently staff the behavioral health ED pod
• Mid-shift assignments in fast track and rapid medical evaluation areas as needed
• Perform phlebotomy independently
• Triage responsibilities included
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required

Required Certifications and Skills:

• ACLS and BLS current
• Must pass Relias EKG exam prior to starting
• Experience with EPIC charting system required
• Preferred certifications: CPI, NIHSS, TNCC

Scheduling:

• Friday through Sunday weekend block schedule available; no block scheduling on weekdays

Additional Requirements:

• Bring own stethoscope and trauma shears
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and social services
