PCU Registered Nurse Job in Kansas City, MO

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at BJC West - Saint Lukes North Hospital - Barry Road Campus in Kansas City, Missouri. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a start date of November 23, 2026.

Schedule and Compensation

• Shift: 3x12 nights
• Weekly pay: $2,286
• Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks
• 8 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule period (Friday, Saturday, Sunday combination)
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off
• Block scheduling is not available

Role Requirements

• Patient ratio: 1:5 for days, nights, and weekends
• 2 years of nursing experience required; previous charge and teaching hospital experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted
• Both Kansas and Missouri licenses or compact license required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Epic charting system experience required

Clinical Skills and Responsibilities

You will care for adult and geriatric patients. Required skills include cardiac telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote), dysrhythmia interpretation and management, post-cardiac angiogram and post-MI care, pre/post cardiac catheterization, pre/post cardiac surgery care, IV insulin protocols, feeding tube care, hemodialysis management, renal failure management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line care, peripheral line insertion, phlebotomy, heparin and cardiac drip protocols (including titration), PCA management, procedural sedation administration, CVA management, peripheral nerve block catheters, total joint replacement care, surgical drain management, chest tube care (Emerson/Pleur-evac), external CPAP/BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, tracheostomy care, isolation precautions, and wound care including wound vacs.

• Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed
• Regular floating between departments, units, and facilities as needed
• Home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
• Interdisciplinary support available: physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
