PCU RN Job in Bridgeport, WV

WVU United Hospital Center is seeking an RN (Registered Nurse) for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in Bridgeport, WV. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting September 3, 2026, offering $2,368 weekly pay.

Shift Details

• Work 3x12-hour night shifts per week
• Weekends as scheduled with every other weekend requirement
• Holiday schedule approximately every other holiday
• No call or standby requirement
• Float as needed (PRN)

Unit Overview

You will work in an 18-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMU) with a 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio. One Patient Care Technician (PCT) will be available per shift. Charge nurse and house supervisor are on-site; under normal circumstances the charge nurse will not carry a patient assignment.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Manage stepdown patients including post-MI with sheath pull, acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF), post-operative vascular, GI bleed, and diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA)
• Titrate drips including Nitroglycerin, Neo, and Cardene
• Monitor telemetry on all patients and read cardiac strips as the RN
• Operate BiPap and CPAP equipment

Requirements

• Current RN license
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• BSN is not required

Operational Details

• Charting system: EPIC
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts permitted per 13-week contract
• Dress code: Royal blue scrubs with white, royal blue, or black undershirts

This position offers stability with predictable scheduling, no on-call obligations, and direct access to charge nurse support. You will work with patients at a critical transition point in their care, applying your clinical skills in medication management, telemetry interpretation, and equipment operation.
