Telemetry RN Job in Saint Louis, MO

Join Barnes-Jewish Hospital Nursing as a Registered Nurse on our Telemetry unit in Saint Louis, Missouri. This 91-day travel assignment offers 3x12-hour night shifts at $2,245 weekly. You'll care for adult patients in a mixed PCU and telemetry setting with patient ratios of 1:4–5, working every other weekend with no on-call requirements.

What You'll Do

• Provide direct patient care on a telemetry/step-down unit serving adults with cardiac and pulmonary conditions
• Interpret EKGs and manage dysrhythmias, cardiac drips, and vasoactive medications
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, peripheral lines, heparin protocols, and IV insulin protocols
• Administer blood products, perform phlebotomy, and provide wound care including wound vac management
• Manage chest tubes, ports, and pacemaker/AICD devices
• Float within the service line as needed

You'll Encounter

Common patient diagnoses include CHF, arrhythmias, A-fib, A-flutter, ACS, STEMI, NSTEMI, heart valve disease, CAD, pulmonary hypertension, hypertensive crisis, chest pain, shortness of breath, and syncope. Special procedures include cardiac catheterization, pacemaker and AICD placement, echocardiogram, stress testing, cardiac MRI and CT, cardioversion, ablation, and anti-arrhythmic drug loading.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of telemetry and step-down experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• EKG interpretation skills and Relias EKG test completion
• Epic charting system experience
• Reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility
• Maximum 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract
