Job Details:

• Night shift position on a 32-bed Medical/Surgical unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
• Minimum of 6-9 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
• Holiday shifts required
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling options available
• Care for patients with common diagnoses including congestive heart failure, hypertension, chest pain work-ups, COPD exacerbations, asthma, pneumonia, pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, gastrointestinal bleeding, acute renal failure, diabetes, wounds/wound vacs, cellulitis, joint replacements, surgical patients, sepsis, and strokes
• Telemetry tech available 24/7; RNs not required to read their own strips
• Experience with respiratory equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and heated high flow
• Common drips include analgesics for pain, anticoagulants for blood clots, antihypertensives for blood pressure control, TPN, and lipids; drip titration not required
• Nurse aides available with a 1:12 ratio
• Charge nurse and house supervisor on unit; charge nurse takes an assignment
• May be asked to float to other acuity levels including ICU (low acuity holds), PCU/Stepdown, MS-Tele, or within Zone 4 if needed
• Charting system: EPIC
• No dress code color requirement
• Strong patient communication skills required
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA)
• BSN not required
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
