PCU RN Job in Richmond, VA

Join our team at Henrico Doctors Hospital-Forest as a Registered Nurse in our Progressive Care Unit (PCU), also known as our Cardiac Stepdown Unit on the 4th floor. You will provide direct patient care in a 18-bed unit with a 4:1 patient ratio.

Position Details

• Schedule: 3 nights per week, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Duration: 91 days
• Start date: September 14, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,080

Your Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms every 4 hours
• Perform vital signs and patient assessments every 4 hours
• Administer medications including cardiac drips (Cardizem, amiodarone, heparin, nitroglycerin) and narcotics
• Manage equipment: central lines, PCAs, foleys, chest tubes, pacer wires, telemetry, and drains
• Care for post-cardiac surgery patients including CABG, valve replacement, TAVR, mitral clip, and thoracotomy
• Support patients with AFib, CHF, and MI
• Float to telemetry and medical-surgical units as needed
• Work every other weekend with overtime available

Unit Staffing

• Night shift: 5 RNs and 1 PCT
• Day shift: 5 RNs, 1 charge coordinator, and 2 PCTs

Requirements

• Current RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Ability to read cardiac monitors
• Stepdown and cardiac experience preferred
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR system
• All navy scrubs required
