Opportunity:

RN - ER

Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Travel experience required - minimum of 3 completed ER travel contracts preferred; candidates with 1-2 completed travel assignments will be screened
• Epic charting system experience required (hard stop - redirected if no Epic experience)
• Work in a large, high-acuity, non-trauma emergency department averaging 165-175 patients per day across 74 beds
• Patient population includes adolescents through geriatrics
• Patient ratio of 1:4 on days, nights, and weekends
• Every other weekend required unless specified otherwise
• Floating is rare but may occur within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Unit systems: Epic (required), Pyxis
• Facility is both Stroke and STEMI Certified
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
• RTO blackout dates: Spring Break (April 4th - 12th)
• Holiday work expectations: if 1-2 major holidays fall within assignment period, traveler is expected to work both; if 3 major holidays fall within assignment period, traveler is expected to work 2 of them
• Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
• Key clinical skills include: triage, interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care/management, IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, 12-lead EKG/ECG, intubation, BiPAP/CPAP management, arterial line management, chest tube management, CVA, STEMI, stroke, neuro-trauma, traumatic brain injury, psychiatric holds, managing violent behavior, phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, and isolation precautions/PPE
