Med Surg RN Job in Albany, GA

You'll work as a registered nurse on a 14-bed acute medical-surgical unit at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, GA. This is a 3x12 night shift position (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) with an every-other-weekend schedule rotating alongside permanent staff.

Role Details:

• Manage a patient ratio of 1:6 on both day and night shifts
• Provide acute care for patients with diabetes, CHF, COPD, GI bleed, renal failure, dialysis, post-surgical overflow, amputations, debridements, wound care, DVTs, ETOH, and psychiatric conditions
• Administer medications including Lasix, Bumex, and Heparin
• Work in a Primary Care Nursing model with CNA support at a 1:12 ratio
• Chart in the MEDITECH system
• Note: A monitored unit on a different floor means you are not required to read strips
• CPAP is used; BiPAP is used at night only

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Med Surg specialty
• At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment
• Must have high-acuity, high-turnover, fast-paced organization experience; Critical Access Hospital (CAH) experience is not accepted
• Current BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications required
• ACLS preferred

Facility Policies:

• Dress code: Caribbean Blue top and bottom, OR White top with Caribbean Blue bottom, OR all white top and bottom
• Nails must be polished only; no artificial or shellac nails
• No bags at the nurses station; lockers available with lock option
• Strict attendance policy in place
• Cancellation policy: 12 hours every 2 weeks required
• Strict 75-mile radius rule applies

Compensation and Duration:

Weekly pay is $2,070. The assignment runs for 168 days, starting August 31, 2026.
