Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Med/Surg unit with a primary focus on surgical orthopedics, neurosurgery, general surgery, and urology
• Self-scheduling with weekend coverage required
• Patient ratio of 6:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Patients include adults and geriatric populations
• 12-bed unit; non-monitored unit
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Active PA or Compact license required
• Required certification: BLS (AHA only)
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Must be willing to float within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius if needed
• Must be available to work every other holiday
• Two supervisor references preferred
• Required skills include: Accessing/Managing Ports, Blood Product Administration, Bowel Obstruction, Central Line Blood Draw, Colostomy/Ileostomy Management/Care, Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI), Feeding Tube Care and Management, Heparin, Insulin, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Med/Surg Telemetry, Nasal Cannula, Oxygen Administration, PCA, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Peripheral Nerve Block Catheters, PICC Line Management, Pre/Post Neurosurgery, Starting and Maintaining IVs, Substance Withdrawal, Surgical Drains, Telemetry, Total Joint Replacement, Use of Rapid Response/Code Teams, and Wound Care/Wound Vac
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, and Unit Secretary
