Emergency Room RN Job in Penn Yan, NY

Finger Lakes Health Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital in Penn Yan, NY is hiring a registered nurse for the Emergency Room. This is a full-time position on a rotating day and night schedule.

Schedule and Compensation

• Three 12-hour shifts per week rotating between days and nights (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• 36 hours per week guaranteed
• Day, night, weekend, and holiday rotation required
• Weekly pay: $2,359
• Assignment duration: 124 weeks
• Start date: October 19, 2026

Requirements

• Current New York State RN licensure
• Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience
• One year of acute hospital experience as a registered professional nurse
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, Stroke Certification (AHA or RQI only), and NIHSS

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and identify urgent or emergent care priorities for patients of all age groups
• Perform primary and secondary patient assessments, including physiological, psychosocial, emotional, and cultural needs
• Conduct triage and assign priority of care in accordance with ESI triage standards
• Utilize invasive and non-invasive procedures, treatments, and therapeutic interventions to manage life-threatening and routine emergency situations
• Provide direct care, apply appropriate interventions, and evaluate patient progress
• Collaborate with team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on post-emergency care and discharge instructions
• Document and report any suspicion of domestic violence or abuse across all age groups
