Opportunity:

RN - Orthopedics

Job Details:

• 3x12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
• No call required
• Float required as needed, including to other campuses
• Charge RN shifts required as needed
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Previous travel experience required
• Charge RN experience required
• BLS certification required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam (2 attempts allowed)
• Patient ratio experience of 5-6 patients
• No holiday RTO accepted
• Care provided to adult and geriatric orthopedic and medical surgical patients
• Telemetry monitoring available on unit
• High volume patient populations include total joint replacements, fracture repairs, shoulder repairs, and kyphoplasties
• Moderate volume patient populations include patients who have had neck or back surgeries
• Unit also accommodates ED patients, sometimes with high acuity
• Special equipment includes CPMs, Buck's Traction, and neck and back braces
• Required skills include: accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, central line blood draw, continuous bladder irrigation, interpretation of dysrhythmias, telemetry remote monitoring, total joint replacement care, wound care/wound vac, PICC line management, tracheostomy care, and peripheral line care/management
