ICU Registered Nurse Job in Crescent City, CA

Sutter Health Coast Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its ICU in Crescent City, California. This is a 91-day travel assignment with 3x12-hour night shifts at $1,996 per week, beginning November 30, 2026.

Role Overview

You will care for a mixed-acuity patient population across all age groups—adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics—in a 6-bed, 9-room ICU unit with a typical daily census of 4–6 patients. Patient ratios are 1:2 on days and nights. You may be asked to float to the Emergency Room or Med/Surg units based on census needs; Med/Surg floats are a last resort with ratios of 1:4–5. Scheduling includes every other weekend and call-off based on unit census.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Current California RN license with valid Nursys verification
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (AHA or ARC only)
• Epic charting system experience

Essential Clinical Skills

You must demonstrate competency in: arterial line and central line management, ventilator management, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, CVVHD/CRRT, hemodialysis, emergency medication administration, procedural sedation monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, ABG interpretation, BiPAP/CPAP management, high-flow nasal cannula, chest tube care, port and PICC line management, IV insulin protocols, continuous sedation and neuromuscular blockade, multisystem organ dysfunction management, GI surgery support, CVA/acute stroke care, chronic and acute renal failure, hypothermia protocol and Arctic Sun, infection prevention, isolation precautions, and phlebotomy.
