RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM on a 4x12 or 3x12 schedule
• Shifts cover weekdays and weekends with 3 weekend shifts per 4-week scheduling period
• 13-week contract with possibility of extension
• Work on a 34-bed med/surg unit with telemetry capabilities
• Patient ratios of 1:5-7 with a daily census of approximately 30 patients
• Care for adult patient populations with a wide range of acute medical conditions
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• WV or Compact nursing license required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS through American Heart Association (AHA)
• Charting system: Cerner
• No scrubs provided
• Skills include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line care and management, chest tube management, CVA care, feeding tube care and management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, interpretation of arterial blood gases, interpretation of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions and PPE, telemetry and remote monitoring, PICC line management, peripheral line care, phlebotomy, PCA management, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure care, tracheostomy care, wound care and wound vac, and use of rapid response and code teams
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
• Facility attendance policy allows no more than 2-3 call offs per contract
